Free UAC Donator Status (Closed)

The 22 people who kindly supplied their UAC ID's should have donation statuses applied on their accounts by now. Please note that this status does not protect you if you are caught cheating in the future!

Original article:
That's right, if you would like to have donation status on your UAC3 account for free, read on! Thanks to the funding recieved from the blog advertisements, S4N will be donating €30* to the developer of the anti-cheat. However, to show our appreciation to you readers, we will request this amount to be split among 30 UAC users.

In order to take advantage of this opportunity, leave your UAC username and ID in the comments section. This will work on a first come first serve basis, if we receive more than 30 requests then those who asked the earliest will be given priority. As long as you have a clean cheating background, you will likely be approved. But what's the catch? There is none! All this has been funded through ads on the site, which was made possible through having active visitors such as yourselves.

What are the benefits of being a UAC donator? Well, you get the special icon on your web profile page (showing that you care about fair play), and that frustrating 15-second wait before entering a match ID will happen no more! Leave the required info below to feel these advantages free of charge!

*Increased due to demand. PayPal fees deemed irrelevant, 5 extra slots added.

1.0 server for "pro" players maybe coming

Absence of 1.0 server where players could play freely without limitations cast by ridiculous rules or inexperienced and paranoid admins gave birth to an idea presented by |WM|Michal. The aim of his initiative posted at KL forum is to create one server serving all clans and free-lance players who prefer more "hard-core" rules (camping allowed and spawn camping only when bomb is near or when VIP is near exit were mentioned). This group of players, unless not united, is not big enough to fill a successful server, so instead of having a number of empty servers there is a chance of joining them into one full (or at least not hopelessly empty). However some players, who certainly count themselves into this group, tend to have miscellaneous flaws in personality qualities which might bring problems to the potential co-operation. The game mode, payments, name and other details have not been discussed yet. Days to come will show, if the idea becomes something more or remain unnoticed.

GameTracker support for SWAT4 is back!

 EDIT October 5, 2013: new version of this fix is available, read more HERE.

Server banner alternative game-state.eu is useful, but it has some bugs and lacks advanced features. Finally it is possible to add your server to real GameTracker again and enjoy server rankings, player statistics and all other perks we were used to. There is a fix which allows your SWAT4 server to use both GameSpy Query protocol v1 (used by xfire, game-state.eu,...) and v2 (used by GameTracker) simultaneously. How to make it work?

For all game versions and admin mods, follow these steps:
  1. Turn your game server off.
  2. Download this file GSV2.u.
  3. Save it to Content/System folder on your server.
  4. Open Swat4DedicatedServer.ini
  5. Replace this line
          ServerActors=IpDrv.MasterServerUplink
    with this one
         ServerActors=GSV2.GameSpyV2Query
  6. Save the file.
  7. Launch your game server.
Now you can register your SWAT4 server with GameTracker. When doing so, use your join port and as query port use (joinport+2). For example if your join port is 10480, use 10482 as your query port.

Alternatively, if your server is running Gez 22/22.1 admin mod you can download only this file AMMod.u and replace the current one on your server with it. No need to do any INI modifications, but if you want, you can set your own v2 query port by changing this line in your Swat4DedicatedServer.ini:
     [AMMod.AMGameSpyV2Query]
     GameSpyV2QueryPort=10482

Autotext in your server will show this after succesful installation:

All of this was made possible by:
  • TR1GGER, creator of HoP mod, who provided the code responsible for query protocol usage
  • MarkieBoy, for his server list solution, used also in this fix
  • |MYT|BaDTimE, who put the pieces together and compiled the inputs into a working fix
It is probable, that MarkieBoy will incorporate this solution into his releases of server-side list fixes. Also note, that this is the first release of GT fix, future updates/fixes might become available. Though during testing all worked smooth and I do recommend trying either of the fixes if you wish to use GT again.

The better your PC specs, the more you lag?

The title might not sound logical, but after asking many people I found this hypothesis to be true - people tend to experience more non-Internet lags in SWAT when they play on a higher PC specification, as opposed to on a lower spec. So I thought I'd make a quick survey to see if this statement holds true over a wider sample of players.

BEFORE attempting the survey, please read the important notes listed beneath it, it only takes a few minutes to complete and it ensures a more accurate survey result:

IMPORTANT NOTES:
To find out your PC technical information, click Start --> Run --> Type: dxdiag --> Press OK/Enter. Your CPU and RAM can be found on the "System" tab, on the lines 'Processor' and 'Memory'. Your GPU can be found on the "Display" tab, on the line 'Device Name'.

For Question 1, refer to this heirarchy chart. Use your browser's 'Find' facility to locate the model of your CPU more easily. If you browser cannot find a match, choose between the 'I cannot find my CPU' options in the survey.

For Question 2, refer to this heirarchy chart. Use the same steps described above to find your Graphics Processor Unit (GPU) more quickly.

For Question 4, the word 'Frequent' can be better described as, atleast 1 or more uncontrollable lag every normal round you play.

New clans emerging on 1.0

Despite the declining number of players, recent time gave birth to some new projects (or clans if you want).

NeverLand is a 1.0 VIP clan established by Bulldog who left Guardian Angels to start his own project. So far he has attracted 4 members, they have own server and a website.

<(fbi)> seems more like a 1.0 community where everyone can join. Their server is not running 24/7, but when it is, it's in VIP or RD mode. Instead of a proper website they use this gametracker page.
